Wachusett Dawn Patrol - Intro to Uphilling
Have you ever thought about earning your turns? With an alpine touring or splitboard setup, you can give it a shot close to Boston. Wachusett Mountain offers uphill access for skiers and snowboarders. The trail is almost exactly 1 mile and 1,000 vertical feet. Ambitious skiers can do a few laps before the lifts even start turning. New uphillers can take their time within the safe confines of a resort space. Skiing uphill unlocks an amazing amount of backcountry terrain. This is a great way to gain experience in some of the basic skills you'll need to tackle more ambitious objectives in the future. If you want to learn how to use your new alpine touring setup or just prefer some company on those cold early mornings, this is a fun trip. Important notes: 1. Best scheduled for weekdays when lifts do not start until 9am. 2. You must have or purchase a Wachusett season pass or uphill pass in order to access the mountain. 3. If you need gear, I can point you in the right direction but I do not have access to rentals.
